Volunteer Shift Info
*UPDATE* For the 2024 swim season, families with 2+ KCSC swimemrs are required to volunteer five shifts (or "points"), and families with 1 KCSC swimmer are required to volunteer four shifts. One of these shifts must be at, or in support of, our KC Invitational Meet (any exceptions to this requirement must be discussed with the Volunteer Coordinators prior to the close of Volunteer Sign-Ups and may involve working additional shifts during the season). Some volunteer shifts are worth more "points" than others. Please sign up for the number of shifts required to total four or five points. You may sign up for more than one shift per meet, but we ask that you not sign up for more than 2 shifts at the same meet to minimize your (and our) risk in the event of a sick swimmer or unexpected schedule conflict. Older, responsible, teen family members; grandparents; childcare providers; and others may fulfill your volunteer requirements. Occasionally we will ask families to reschedule volunteer shifts to meet the needs of the team. While we make every attempt to let families choose their own shifts, we must cover critical jobs at each meet and changes sometimes happen. We also may also ask families to volunteer for an extra shift at our league championships or state meets. Families with swimmers at these events are asked to pitch in to help the success of our league!

Splash for Cash (SFC)
If you are unable to fulfill your volunteer requirements, it is your responsibility to either find a replacement, or request a teenager from our Splash for Cash (SFC) program to cover your shift for you. For a $40.00 per shift fee, your shift can be covered by a pre-qualified teenager. Please note that some shifts must be filled by an adult and are therefore not eligible for SFC, but our SFC and Volunteer Coordinators will work with you when possible.
To apply for the SFC program, please following this process:
Step 1: You MUST sign up for your 4 or 5 shifts in swimtopia before you can apply
Step 2: Fill out application for EACH shift that you are applying for using google form- Form Here
Step 3: Put $40 CASH (per shift) in an envelope labeled with your name, shift date, and shift description and put it in the splash for cash folder
Step 4: After we receive your cash, you will receive a confirmation from splash for cash coordinator that your application has been accepted. Your application will not be accepted until we receive your cash.
Failure to follow this process will result in a “no show fee” at $100 per shift and may also impact your child’s eligibility to swim in future seasons.
